Michael P. Biggans, JD/MS, LPC
As an IFS guide and psychedelic-assisted coach, I work with adults and couples looking to deepen their relationships, overcome obstacles, and develop healthier patterns. My approach centers on supporting authentic personal and spiritual growth.
Rather than claiming expertise in a single method, I draw from several proven approaches, primarily using Internal Family Systems (IFS) along with Acceptance & Commitment Coaching (ACC) and other mindfulness-based practices. I’ve found IFS particularly powerful through both personal experience and client work.
My path here wasn’t direct – I started as a trial attorney defending civil rights after earning my law degree. A growing connection to entheogens and non-ordinary states of consciousness led me to shift careers, pursuing a Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Villanova University. I’ve worked with veterans, college students, and individuals navigating complex challenges and post-psychedelic integration.
While my background includes clinical psychotherapy, I’ve found coaching allows for more direct and efficient work without some of traditional therapy’s limitations. I bring my counseling experience and extensive training to create a practical, growth-oriented approach.
Outside work, you’ll find me hiking with my dogs, catching live music at concerts and festivals, snowboarding, diving into books and podcasts, or trying new restaurants with my wife and friends.
